There are a wide range of opportunities available for volunteers.
You can come build on a work site, serve on a committee, help out with a special event, or even help out in our office. Explore the different types of volunteer opportunities below.
Volunteer Opportunities
Construction
Volunteers must be 16 or older, complete a waiver, and schedule in advance. No experience is necessary, and tools are provided.
Committees
There are many ways to support families beyond construction! Habitat for Humanity has 10 active committees working behind the scenes to advance our mission, and each one is powered by volunteers—with plenty of roles available. Whether you’d like to partner with potential families, join our grants committee to secure funding, or assist the site selection committee in finding our next build location, there’s a place for you to make an impact.
Special Events
Habitat for Humanity has a variety of special events that we do each year that we can't do without the support of our amazing volunteers:

-
Highmark’s Walk for a Healthy Community
-
Swing for Habitat Golf Tournament
-
Habitat’s Monopoly Night
-
Gift Wrapping at the Millcreek Mall
Educational Programs
for Youth
The Girls Build program empowers girls ages 10–12 by teaching them about community involvement, poverty housing, and the benefits of homeownership. Through hands-on learning, participants build self-esteem, learn about Habitat for Humanity’s mission, and explore careers in traditionally male-dominated fields. Volunteers and schools interested in bringing this impactful program to more students can reach out to our volunteer coordinator for more information.
Office
With our small office team, we often need assistance with mailings, data entry, filing, and event preparation. Whether you’re available weekly or monthly, your help makes a difference!
If you’re interested in volunteering in our office, please contact us for more information.
