Bringing a Group to the Work Site
The Greater Erie Area Habitat for Humanity has provided homeownership opportunities for more than 50 families in the Erie area including 4 in Union City for over 20 years. Currently we are working on 2 houses. Check out more on our current builds here.
Bringing a group to the work site is a great way to build teamwork and camaraderie. To bring a group of volunteers to the work site, they all must be 16 years of age or older. A group can consist of up to 12 members. We work on the construction sites on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 8 am to 12 pm. We also work two shifts on Saturday's from 8 am to 12 pm and 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm. There is no experience required and all tools are provided.
To schedule a group, please contact our Program Coordinator or at (814) 454-7025. She will give you a list of available dates for your group to come and volunteer. All groups must be scheduled before coming to the worksite. If you show up without scheduling, you will be sent home.
Once your group is scheduled, the group leader will receive a group coordinator packet that has all the paperwork for the group along with the instructions for completion. Paperwork is due a minimum of 1 week before your scheduled build day. This secures your build day. If paperwork is not received at least 7 days ahead of the scheduled build date, your date may be given away. So, invite your coworkers or a group of friends and come out to help a local family make the dream of homeownership come true.
